Insurance Updates for 2017

Beginning January 1st, 2017, we will be in network with BCBS BLUE VALUE AND CIGNA CONNECT as part of the UNC Health Alliance. Cigna Connect is the new insurance plan with the Healthcare exchange. If you have any questions about the exchange program you can go to their website at www.healthcare.gov. Please feel free to call us with any questions or concerns

Beginning January 1, 2017, we will not be in network with Blue Local. This is a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan offered through the Healthcare Exchange that currently begins with the letters “DQV,” “DQW,” or “YPC.” We are currently in network with all other types of BCBS.

We are reaching out to our current patients with Blue Local. If you are considering changing your plan to Blue Local, please be aware that visits at our office will not be covered.

Flu Vaccine Now Available

The injectable flu vaccine is available at both offices. Many people have asked about the availability of the flu mist nasal spray. It is not being produced this year and will not be available at our office (or any other office). Everyone is encouraged to get the flu shot.

If your child comes in for a physical exam or sick visit (and is fever free) he/she can receive the flu vaccine during that visit–no need to schedule a second appointment.

We are not planning to schedule any more “flu clinics,” but you can request to schedule a nurse visit for the flu vaccine in either office between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Saturday, October 15th

For this Saturday, October 15th only, we will be having different urgent care hours. Our phones will turn on at 8 am (instead of the regular 9 am) and appointments will only be available until 11:30 am (instead of 2 pm). Please call or walk in for an appointment between 8 am and 11:30 am.
Normal phone and appointment hours will resume on Sunday, October 16th.

Telephones Working Normally

Our phones are working normally again today (10/11/16). This is a great opportunity to make sure you have a working patient portal account– you can securely submit questions and request appointments even when our phones are disconnected.

Telephones Down 10/10/16

Our phone lines are down today and the phone company is working on it. You may still request an appointment through your portal account. Also, you may walk in for an urgent care appointment between 3 pm and 6 pm in our Chapel Hill office.
For our after hours triage nurse line, available from 7 pm tonight until 8 am tomorrow morning, please call 877-514-3675. There is a charge of $16 for these calls.
