Medications that your pediatrician has prescribed are an important part of your child's healthcare. If you are having difficulty paying for these prescriptions, please check into the following resources. If you are unable to get assistance from these resources, please let your pediatrician know before you discontinue the medication for your child. 1. www.togetherrxaccess.com . This is a free prescription savings program for individuals without prescription drug coverage and/or who are not eligible for Medicare. 2. www.pparx.org. (Partnership for Prescription Assistance.) 1-888-4PPA-NOW. A database of prescription savings programs created by pharmacists to help individuals afford medications irregardless of their prescription insurance coverage. 3. www.needymeds.org. A database of assistance programs for individual prescription medications. 4. www.medassist.org. (North Carolina MedAssist.) 1-704-536-1790. A program for North Carolina residents of any age who fall at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level and have no prescription coverage. 5. www.ncdoi.com. North Carolina Department of Insurance. 800-546-5664. 6. Your local county Social Services Agency for Medicaid and North Carolina HealthChoice.
