New Patient Services

New Patient Information:

Most of the pediatricians at Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents are accepting new patients.  To schedule an appointment at either office for your child, please call our appointment desk at our Chapel Hill Office (919-942-4173) during business hours.  Let the staff member know which office you would prefer to visit and which pediatrician you would like to see (if you have a preference).  We strive to see new patients for well child physical exams and routine care of chronic issues promptly, and we strive to offer same day availability for acute care ("sick visits") appointments.  If your child is a new patient and has a chronic medical condition, please let our staff know so that the pediatrician and/or our care coordinator can assist in planning for the visit. When transferring your child's care from another practice, please fill out a medical records release form at your prior office and request they send the records to Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents, PA. Please also request they fax your child's immunization records to us at (919) 933-3473.

Newborn Information:

When you deliver your baby, notify the hospital staff that you plan to be followed by Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents, PA. Providing a pediatrician's name will help decrease the possibility of confusion with other similarly named practices. The pediatrician on call for the day will examine your baby each morning that you are in the hospital and will visit with you after examining your baby.  Babies born who need significant medical intervention will be cared for by the specially trained neonatal staff at each hospital in their special care nursery.  If you plan to follow up with Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents, PA but your baby is admitted to the special care nursery, please call our office and ask our staff to notify our "on call" pediatrician.

At the time of discharge, the doctor will let you know when to follow up with your pediatrician. Please request your child's newborn discharge information from the hospital and bring this information to your first appointment with us. We recommend that all newborns follow up within 1-2 days after discharge from the hospital.  To schedule this first visit, call our office (919-942-4173) during office hours.  Let the staff member know that you need to schedule hospital follow up for a newborn baby and you will be scheduled for an appointment in 24-48 hours as requested (available 7 days/week).

Meet and Greet Sessions:

The practice offers complimentary "Meet and Greet" sessions for expectant parents, families new to the area and parents exploring a change in pediatric providers. These sessions are on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Please scroll down to the bottom of this page for the 2012 "Meet and Greet" dates. Information about the practice, routine examinations and immunizations, and frequently asked questions will be discussed.  If you would like to meet a specific provider, a private consultation can be arranged through our appointment staff.  (There is a fee for an individual consultation.)

If you would like to attend our new family "meet and greet" session, please call 919-942-4173 x199 and leave your name, phone number, and the session you plan to attend.  This registration is not mandatory, but allows us to plan and also to contact you should a class need to be changed or cancelled.
