On weekdays after 7:00 pm and on weekends when the office is not open, CHPA provides an “after hours” nurse triage answering service (RN's on call), 1-866-437-4425, to respond to any urgent concerns or questions about your child’s health that might arise after the office has closed.  These highly trained nurses follow national guidelines for pediatric telephone triage.   They will listen to your concerns, ask questions, and give you specific advice or refer you to our on-call physician for further guidance.  

The hours for the nurse triage answering service are:

Monday through Friday from 7:00 pm-8:00 am

Saturday from 12:00 noon until Sunday 11:30 am

Sunday from 2:00 pm until Monday 8:00 am

At all other times, please call the office to make an appointment or  to speak with an advice nurse.

The fees for “After Hours” nurse triage phone calls are as follows:

Within North Carolina
• $10/call week-ends and evenings
• $20/call New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Fees waived for infants less than 60 days

Out of State
• $20/call week-ends, evenings, and Holidays
