Telephone Advice and Triage
The advice nurses are an integral part of the Advanced Care Team at Chapel Hill Pediatrics and carry out telephone triage and education for the patients and family members of the practice.
The advice nurses are all registered nurses (RNs) with specific training in utilizing published telephone triage protocols to assess and then guide the caller to the appropriate level of care. Our nurses assist patients and family members in making decisions about the need for appointments in the office, obtaining referrals, or whether they may need to seek emergency care. In addition, our advice nurses assist patients and families with refilling routine prescriptions under refill medication protocols written by the physicians, as well as assisting with completing medical and health forms, and obtaining prior authorizations for the individual insurance companies.
The Advanced Care Team nurses function to provide accurate and timely information and continuity of care for the client and family at Chapel Hill Pediatrics. The members of the Advanced Care Team at Chapel Hill Pediatrics includes: Margaret Duncan-Brown RN, Robin Godwin RN, Natalie Goodwin RN, Debbie Tate RN, Patty Rhodes RN, and Suzanne McGuinn RN.
The advice/triage line is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. After 4:00 pm, these nurses are available for urgent needs until the end of normal business hours.
